Narrative: Welcome to Insights on Healing Podcast. Our Episode title is, Why you should depend on God. You will learn who God is and what happens when you cry out to him.
I am Joan M. Blake, an author, and I am your host. Insights on Healing Podcast includes the reading of scripture, praying, reading from one of my books, or interviewing individuals who found purpose in their lives through the healing power of God.
The purpose of this podcast is to provide content which brings emotional healing and restoration to mothers who have had a difficult past and are currently experiencing difficulties. A focal point of this podcast is reflecting on scripture verses and praying for my audience. I pray as you listen to this episode, that God would bless you with inner strength, purpose, and provide you with the hope that you have been longing for.
Today, I am reading verses 1-6 and verses 16-20 of Psalm 18 from the KJV
I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.
2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
6 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.
18 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.
19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
20 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
Reflection: This is a psalm of David when he escaped from the hands of Saul and from his enemies. You learned from verses 1-2 that the Lord is your strength, he is your rock, your fortress and your deliverer, the horn of your salvation and your high tower. Verse 3 explains that He is worthy to be praised. In verse 4 and 5 explained how David was afraid and how he was close to death but in his distress, he called upon God and God heard his cries. Verses 16 through 20, explain God took David out of many waters and how God brought him into a large place because he delighted in him. David remained true to God and God recompensed him.
Are you experiencing a lot of issues right now and you cannot see your way? Cry out to God, for he is your strength, your fortress and your high tower. He will rescue you as he did David. You must utilize your faith to believe that He will do it and he will.
Let us pray: Father God, I pray for healing for my listeners who may be ill and dying, those who may not have proper housing or living on the streets, those who are suffering with various emotional issues, that you would provide healing and restore them to wholeness God in the name of Jesus. There is nothing too hard for you, for you are God. The word states that you are a strong tower, a fortress and their deliverer. I pray that they will call upon you for you are worthy to be praised and that you answer prayer. Thank you God for answering their prayers in the name of Jesus, Amen.
