Why We Should Praise the Lord

I praise the Lord for his love, mercy, and faithfulness.

God loves you and me. He sent his son, Jesus, our king to preach the gospel to the masses, to take our place by dying on the cross for our sin so we can be justified before God, the Father. When we confess our sin, and accept Jesus as Lord of our lives, we have salvation and eternal life. We are children of God and joint heirs with Christ.

As children, God shows mercy towards us regardless of who we are and what we have done in the past. He forever forgives us for our current, past, and future sins. When we turn our lives around, God sees us in a new light and not the persons we used to be. Because all things are possible with God, we can become what God wants us to be by believing in Him and leaning on the hope that he has awarded us. God’s mercy towards us is also in the form of grace which is unmerited favor. The Bible states it is by grace that we are saved, not anything that we have done to deserve the blessings that God has given us. God’s mercy is also shown by the compassion He shows to humankind, through his healing, deliverance, restoration, of the sick and his comfort to the poor and downcast.

God remains faithful to His promises (1 Cor. 1:9; 1 Thess 5:24). Both the Old and New  Testament attest to the coming  Messiah, Jesus (Isaiah 9:6-7 and Matthew1:22-23). The Bible explains several covenants, for example, covenants God made with Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David showing God’s faithfulness.

May you continue to taste God’s love, mercy, and faithfulness.

In Christ,

Joan M. Blake (author)
