Narrative: Welcome to Insights on Healing Podcast. Our Episode title is, “Why are you dissatisfied with life? I will reflect on the seven causes I have chosen and give you a reason why you should not be dissatisfied with life.
I am Joan M. Blake, an author, and I am your host. Insights on Healing Podcast includes the reading of scripture, praying, reading from one of my books, or interviewing individuals who found purpose in their lives through the healing power of God.
The purpose of this podcast is to provide content which brings emotional healing and restoration to mothers who have had a difficult past and are currently experiencing difficulties. A focal point of this podcast is reflecting on the scripture verses and praying for my audience. I pray as you listen to this episode, that God would bless you with inner strength, purpose, and provide you with the hope that you have been longing for.
- You are unable to achieve your dreams due to an accident or sickness that has prevented you from going after your dream.
Reflection: Life is not always smooth for everyone. We cannot tell what will happen today or tomorrow.
Scripture Verse: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
- You failed at high school and were unable to be in a basketball team which would have allowed you to do exceedingly well and maybe get a scholarship to a college or university.
Reflection: Your failing at high school is not the end but a new beginning for you. You can always look into a ten-month course on a subject that you like and go to a community college at night.
Scripture Verse: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
- Your parents died and you were the oldest child left to care for your siblings.
Reflection: Look at that situation as an honor because you were able to help your siblings, and the government did not put you and your siblings in foster care. Sometimes children are separated when they are assigned to foster care.
Scripture Verse: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2 - You are tired of working hard at your full-time job which is paying only minimum wage, and you cannot see a way out to improve yourself.
Reflection: Regard your situation as the beginning of your greatness. Again, look into a community college as a way to move forward into the future.
Scripture Verse: “Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.” – Proverbs 16:3 - Your spouse walked out on you or died, and you are left feeling lonely and forgotten, and you cannot pick up the pieces of your life.
Reflection: You can no longer feel sad and gloomy over the fact that your spouse died or walked out on you. You need to slowly pick up the pieces of your life so you can live again and hope again. Start meeting with friends for tea and talk about issues with your friends. You will find that everyone has a problem, but the problem is not the same as yours.
Scripture Verse: “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18 - You have no friends because you do not trust anybody, and so you feel dissatisfied with life.
Reflection: Start by joining a therapeutic group where you can feel good sharing openly with others. In time, you will make friends and trust others. People need people.
Scripture Verse: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 - You are lying in a hospital bed sick and dying; You feel like giving up and taking your life because your life has no meaning.
Reflection: Some people die younger than others, but the fact of the matter is that we will all die. However, what matters is how we go about meeting our Maker.
Scripture Verse: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” – Psalm 23:4
Let us pray:
Father,
We come in your presence one more time, because in your presence is fullness of joy and peace forever more. You said, come unto me all you who are weary and I will give you rest. So we come before you bringing you the needs of your children who feel dissatisfied with life for several reasons. Lord, some are sick, others feel lonely, poverty stricken, struggling with their past and do not have a way out of their situations. I pray in the name of Jesus, that you would supply their needs, giving them hope and a future. Thank you Lord for your goodness and your mercy.
