Welcome to “Insights on Healing a weekly Podcast.” We are continuing our series on faith and today’s Episode is “When you need to make a decision regarding yourself or your family member.” You will learn to cry out to God and wait on Him.
My name is Joan M. Blake, author, and I am your host. Insights on Healing includes the reading of Scripture, praying for my audience, reading from one of my books, and interviewing individuals who found purpose in their lives through the healing power of God.
The purpose of this podcast is to provide content that brings emotional healing and restoration to those who are dealing with trauma and other difficult life issues. I pray as you listen to this episode, that God would bless you with inner strength, purpose, and provide you with the hope that you have been longing for.
We will begin by laying down the foundation.
Q. What decision are you about to make regarding yourself or your family member?
Do you have a family member in need of more services than you can handle? Are you in an abusive relationship? Are you looking for a new job? Remember that God has given you one life to live and although you are willing to do more for a disabled family member, stay in an abusive relationship, or not get a higher paying job, God wants you to use wisdom in making decisions. God has allowed you to grow spiritually, giving you the Bible as the word of God with directions in which to follow. You find life stories that you can use as examples to make decisions regarding your own life-issues that you need to solve.
Today, I would like to introduce four ways for you to consider before embarking on making a decision.
- Seek God by praying about the issue you have. In Ps. 34:17 says that when you cry out to God, that the Lord hears the cries of the righteous. He delivers them from all of their troubles and that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
- After seeking God, you must wait on God for the answer. The Psalmist in Psalm 40 states that I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. If your issue is a new job or placement of a family member, God would send the answer through someone.
- Look at the options whether it is a new job you have been waiting for or a placement for a family member.
- Make your decision based on the options you have before you, or by faith. The book of Ruth 1:15-16 serves as a great example. In this case, Ruth decided to go to Bethlehem with her mother-in-law Naomi who was mourning the loss of her husband and two sons. Although Naomi was not going to a particular place, Ruth utilizing faith still opted to go with her. In the process of time, Naomi helped Ruth to connect with Boaz, a wealthy landowner who eventually married Ruth and Naomi became a member of their household.
Let us pray: Father, we come into your presence not because we are worthy, but because you have made a way through the blood of Jesus. We magnify your name; we give you the highest praise because you are worthy to receive all of our praises, honor, and the glory that belongs to you. We confess all our thoughts, words, and actions that are not pleasing to you and ask for your forgiveness. Father, we bring all our problems to you; our family issues, job issues, and every stumbling block that prevents us from moving forward and doing your will. In the name of Jesus, I pray for my listeners who may be struggling with illness in their family, relationship problems, job issues, financial issues, job issues and other issues that are draining them of strength. I pray in the name of Jesus that you would make a way for them and cancel the problems that come their way so they can prosper and be in good health.
