Welcome to “Insights on Healing a weekly Podcast.” Today’s Episode is “What happens when you pray” You will learn why you should pray and what happens when you pray.
My name is Joan M. Blake, author, and I am your host. Insights on Healing includes the reading of Scripture, praying for my audience, reading from one of my books, and interviewing individuals who found purpose in their lives through the healing power of God.
The purpose of this podcast is to provide content that brings emotional healing and restoration to those who are dealing with trauma and other difficult life issues. I pray as you listen to this episode, that God would bless you with inner strength, purpose, and provide you with the hope that you have been longing for. Our Episode today is What Happens when you pray. I will define prayer and go right into our discussion
Define prayer: When you pray you enter communication with God to praise, worship, thank God for `all that God has done for you and you also bring your prayer requests to Him and you believe by faith that God will answer them. Sometimes, we have to wait on God’s timing since He knows what’s best for each of us.
What Happens when you pray:
- You release your burdens to God-anything that you cannot handle, God can. Psalm 55:2 God promises us that we can release our burdens and He will sustain us.
- God gives you strength to endure your trials; God gave Apostle Paul so much strength to endure persecutions, stoning, shipwrecks, beatings 2 Cor. 11:25
- You receive guidance through the Holy Spirit-God guides you through the trials you are enduring. He never gives you more than you can bear. Romans 8:26-27
In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
- God answers your prayers for healing for yourself or your loved ones. Sometimes, he chooses not to answer. (Psalm 103:3)
- God delivers you brings you out of your dilemma-if you are going through difficult situations, for example an abusive marriage, God can deliver you out of that situation. (Isaiah 43:19)
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. 19 Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
- God changes you from the person you used to be, by giving you a loving spirit.(2 Timothy 1:7)
- God gives you a new perspective on life. In my home, I was always giving and giving. God showed me how to take care of myself by treating myself. Last Sunday, after attending Church service, I treated myself to breakfast and I read some scripture verses regarding this message. (Gal. 5:1)
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
Father God,
We come to you because you are all that we need and we bring all of our burdens to you. There are people who are in need of salvation, healing from sicknesses, healing from trauma, addictions, homelessness, guilt, fear, anxiety, unforgiveness, mental health issues and more. Lord, we bring these needs to you asking you to make a way out of no way for everyone who has these needs, we pray in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
