What Does God Expect of Me During My Lifetime

Have you realized that you have extended yourself too much? You are there for your immediate family, extended family, friends, doing a ministry that God has called you to do and now find yourself with little time for yourself. If this resembles your lifestyle, you and I are in the same boat and we need to ask ourselves the question, “What does God expect of me during my lifetime?’

God wants each person to focus on Him. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment (Matthew 22:37-38). Our love for God is shown through our actions, by praying to him, by praising, worshiping, and honoring him. When we make Him first in our lives, then working with our families, friends, extended families, and ministries would become easier, because God would give us the wisdom and direction that we need.

I believe that God wants us to be true and honest to ourselves. When we are honest to ourselves, we would do only what we can with our families, friends, extended families, ministries, and allow God to shoulder the rest.

God wants us to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:39) and to reach out to the poor among us. In so doing, we will fulfill the second great commandment. Additionally, the Bible tells us, “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world (1 John 2:15-16).”

In every area of our lives, we are to look to God for help, so we can uncover the secrets  to care for our families, friends, neighbors, extended family,  and those to whom we minister.

May God bless you,
