Part 2
Narrative: Welcome to Insights on Healing Podcast. Our Episode title is, “When things are not adding up? You feel that you have failed. You will understand that even if you have failed in your business, failure is not the end, and that God is guiding you in your journey and you can feel hopeful.
I am Joan M. Blake, an author, and I am your host. Insights on Healing Podcast includes the reading of scripture, praying, reading from one of my books, or interviewing individuals who found purpose in their lives through the healing power of God.
The purpose of this podcast is to provide content which brings emotional healing and restoration to mothers who have had a difficult past and are currently experiencing difficulties. A focal point of this podcast is reflecting on the scripture verses and praying for my audience. I pray as you listen to this episode, that God would bless you with inner strength, purpose, and provide you with the hope that you have been longing for.
In our previous episode, we talked about how you felt dealing with painful wounds and why it was difficult to give up the pain and move forward. Today, we are going to delve into why unforgiveness is dangerous, what it leads to and why we need to forgive others.
- Bitterness and Resentment:
- Unforgiveness breeds bitterness, which can fester and grow into resentment, poisoning the heart.
- Scripture: “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.” (Ephesians 4:31)
- Blocks God’s Forgiveness:
- Holding onto unforgiveness can block us from receiving God’s forgiveness.
- Scripture: “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Matthew 6:15)
- Hinders Prayer and Worship:
- Unforgiveness can create a barrier between us and God, affecting our spiritual life and hindering our prayers.
- Scripture: “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” (Mark 11:25)
- Causes Emotional and Physical Harm:
- Unforgiveness can lead to stress, anxiety, and even physical ailments, as the burden of anger and hurt weighs down the body and soul.
- Scripture: “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.” (Proverbs 14:30)
Let us pray.
Father we come before you because you are loving and compassionate and you are a forgiving God. We confess our sins of hate, jealousy, bitterness, and unforgiveness and we ask for your forgiveness. We realize that if we do not forgive, we are the ones who remain in bondage without healing. You said if we confess our sin, you are faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us from all righteousness. You also said that if we do not forgive, you will not forgive us. Thank you Father that you will continue to guide and direct our paths so we do not fall in the pit of this sin in Jesus name, amen.
