During this life-journey, and particularly during this pandemic, we may experience suffering, depression due to loss of jobs, challenges to put food on our tables or difficulties keeping our children focused at home, but we must not lose hope. God knows that we live in a fallen world, that all have sinned and fall short of his glory.
We can no longer point fingers at one another because all of us were born in sin and are in the boat together. We are justified or made right through the unconditional love of God who sent his son Jesus to redeem us or pay the price for the sin of humanity through the shedding of His blood. That act of love is called “grace” because it is not based on our goodness or anything that we have done to deserve such love.
Because our sin debt was paid in full, we have an opportunity to submit our lives to Jesus Christ through faith in Him. By submitting our lives, we make Jesus our Lord and we enter a relationship with God through His Son Jesus. We confess, repent, and ask forgiveness for all our wrongdoings past, present, and future, and open ourselves to newness of life in accordance with God’s will. As we continue on this difficult journey, we can put our faith to the test and choose to stand on God’s promises and believe that He would never leave or forsake us, that he would provide for us, guide us, keep us, strengthen us and comfort us in times of grief.
