Stop Condemning Yourself

Are you living in Christ? Does your past still hunt you to the point of self-condemnation? Then you are not applying Christ’s death and resurrection to your life, you are not understanding who you really are, and what your purpose is.

First of all, the scriptures tell us that God knew you before you were born and before the foundations of the world, He had a plan and purpose for you (Psalm 139), so even if you went astray from those plans, God, through the Holy Spirit, will bring you back to those plans, and those plans will come to fruition. Remember Apostle Paul, he was a persecutor of Christians, but God had a plan for him to bring all who were lost, even Gentiles, to a saving knowledge of his grace; Apostle Paul did just that. He told the gospel story to everyone even to the point of sacrificing his own life.

He spoke about having no condemnation in Christ because you and I were justified by Christ’s death on the cross when He paid our sin debt and sanctified by the way we live in Christ. God looks at his children as redeemed by the blood of the lamb. The question is: How do we look at ourselves? As followers of Christ, and living in Christ, the world might condemn us or we may go through trials and afflictions, but we are not condemned. Therefore, we ought not to condemn ourselves because God continues to put a shield of protection over us.

Why does God protect sus? He protects us because we are His children and as children, we are heirs and joint heirs with Christ (Rom.8:14-16). We should walk as children of God, in the world, cloaked with the mindset of God, knowing that we are under His umbrella. May God bless and keep you always.
