For the past few months I have been busy with my family. Being involved in the lives of the people to whom God has entrusted to us to love and to enjoy, is a tremendous responsibility, one we should not ignore or forget. Whether you are a Pastor, an Evangelist, a teacher, a Principal, a stay at home parent, a business owner, an employee or a student, let us remember our commitment to almighty God and to our immediate family.
Home is the place where children learn how it feels to be loved and to love. It is the place where children learn the right and wrong for their lives—how to set boundaries in the midst of an evil world which use as their subjects little innocent children, teenagers, or women as victims. It’s the place that we parents should teach the word of God to our children.
The word of God is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105 NIV); we need God’s direction for our everyday lives. The Lord is our strength and our shield (Psalm 28:6). We need God’s help in the times that we live. God’s word helps us as well as our families to overcome the difficulties that we face. God’s word is the healing balm for our lives (Psalm 103:3). When we believe by faith in the healing power of God’s word, we can receive the healing and comfort that we so desire. When I reflect on the Marathon victims who lost limbs and who still have the desire to accept their fate and move on with their lives, I know that it was the grace of God that kept them.
Let the times that we live in be an indication for us to spend creative time with our family members teaching them the word of God.
