The teacher in the Newtown, Connecticut School shooting must have prayed at the very moment and God gave her the insight to hide all her students in the closet and face the killer herself. She died in that tragedy but saved all the children in her classroom. Have you ever prayed at the right moment only to find that God had answered your prayer and saved you or someone else from a total tragedy? I have.
Leaving our daughter’s home on Sunday December 16, 2012, after a family gathering, my husband and I were in conversation about the goodness of God. It was wet and slippery and I found time to pray to God for our safety. Two minutes or less, I felt the quick movement of the car and before we knew it, the car had swerved off the highway and on to the guard-rail. We had no injuries. God had answered my prayer for safety. He gave us life to see: our children, our grandchildren, our in-laws and our extended family members. Most of all, he gave us a second chance to live out our dream-the purpose that He had planted in us before the foundation of the world. I did not take the accident lightly. I realize that I should be busy about the Lord’s business and stop the procrastination. I hope that my story encourages you to do the same. Live today as if it is your last. Live purposefully and joyfully
