Welcome to “Insights on Healing a weekly Podcast.” Today’s Episode is “Praising God in the Midst of your Troubles.” You will learn why you should praise God in the first place regardless of what you are going through.
I am Joan M. Blake, author, and I am your host. The purpose of Insights on Healing podcast is to provide content that brings emotional healing and restoration to individuals dealing with trauma and difficult life situations.
Insights on healing podcast includes the reading of scripture, praying for my audience, reading from one of my books or interviewing individuals who found purpose through the healing power of God. I pray that God would bless you and give you hope.Today’s podcast is taken from Psalm 100. I am reading from the NIV version of the bible.
- Shout for joy to the Lord all the earth
- Worship the Lord with gladness
Come before Him with joyful songs
- Know that the Lord is God
It is He who made us and we are His
We are His people, the sheep of His Pasture
- Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise
Give thanks to Him and praise his name
- For the Lord is good and His love endures forever
And his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Reflection: Friends, these five verses say it all. We serve a mighty God and we are His. He is our Shepherd and we are his sheep. A shepherd looks after the sheep that He owns. Psalm 23 states that God is our shepherd and we shall not be in want of anything.
Psalm 100 invites us to worship the Lord, praise him and give Him thanks for He is worthy of our praises. We worship and praise him because He is our father. We thank Him for his love, goodness, his mercy and faithfulness. In John 3:16, God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross in our place so we can be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us that It is by grace that you and I have been saved not anything that we have done. You might tell me, but Joan, look where I am today, what has God done for me I am homeless, I have mental issues, I am a drug addict.
This is what God has done for You. He has given you life and hope. He has given you time on this earth to pick up the pieces of your life and do something with it. God never looks at your past. He looks at your future. In Jeremiah 29:11 God declares, that the plans I have for you are plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. That is who God is: He is good, loving, kind, and in 2 Cor. 1:20 he is faithful to keep his promises. God will do everything to put you back on your feet. All you have to do is exercise faith, wait on God, believe in his love and trust Him. Your life will improve because of it.
Let us pray: Father, I pray on behalf of my listeners who have had trauma in their lives and have been impacted by this trauma and cannot seem to move forward. I pray Father for a breakthrough for each one in the name of Jesus. I pray that you would break every stronghold that is holding them back from moving forward in the name of Jesus. I say ‘Rise up” in the name of Jesus and become the person God has called you to be.
