If you feel like me, you are moving on or pressing on. As you advance one step you feel that you are going three steps backward. The storms of life have drenched you. You are living in a maze of anxiety and pressures of life that seem to beat against you as the rushing waves of the sea. Don’t worry about where the waves take you. You know how to bounce back, take your place, and swim until you get to shore.
You and I are on a life-journey that has stumbling blocks for us to overcome and detours for us to get back on track. We are runners in a race who need to run with vigor and with confidence. We can’t afford to look at how far we have come or look to see if our competitors are catching up to us. If we look back, we are looking at our past which has vanished away with all its failures. God is interested in you and me, not in our past. If we look back while we run, another runner might stumble over us. We lose time in our race to the finish line. The finish line is our destiny, the purpose that God designed for you and me before He established the world. We must run this race with perseverance looking ahead to what God has already done for us through Jesus Christ, who died and rose again for our victory. Apostle Paul said it nicely in Philippians 3:14: “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
The Lord teaches us in Matthew 7:24-25 NASB, that we should act as “a wise man who built his house upon a rock and the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock.” Friends, that rock is Jesus Christ, the Lord. He is the key to overcoming life’s difficulties. If you are wondering where to turn in your life, first, take a close look at yourself in the mirror and see God’s masterpiece-You. If you are living under any form of oppression, step out of your situation. Seek professional help if it becomes necessary. Your freedom to live a purposeful life is of the utmost importance. Persevere in being the person for whom God has called you and do the things He requires of you. Persevere even though you do not see the results. Good results will come your way when you persevere and do not give up on yourself, for whom Jesus died and rose again.
May God bless you. Please feel free to share your comments to this blog post.
