Have you ever been touched by an angel? I read a story a while ago of a mother who did not have food to feed her family and someone placed a bag of food on her door step. The person did not leave his/her name, address, or telephone number. That mother knew that an angel had met her needs. This past Saturday, November 2, 2013, I conducted a workshop on “The Art of Journaling for Teens” at a local library. I was anxious because I was not sure of the number of people who were attending the event or whether I would get someone to assist me. I had no idea that my little angel would be there.
I arrived at 1:30 pm at the library, one half hour before the session was supposed to begin. I was met by my angel— a little girl twelve years old. She offered to help me. I told her that I needed a chair to be placed in-front of the table where the books were displayed so that I could sign books. To my amazement, she got a chair, sat in it and immediately began organizing the table. Her sticker read: “Your helper.” People arrived at 3pm and my angel was busy handing out labels, folders, business cards, bookmarks, and pens to those who needed them. She even set the video-camera to record.
The Librarian helped by setting up the machinery so I can present my Power-point slides, while a teenager helped with the video-shooting and taking pictures. I presented gifts to both of my helpers. Following the reception, I asked my little angel if she had filled out a form with her name, address, and telephone number. She shook her head and replied:”No. I am always here.” My little angel was sent to remind me that God is always with me. He promises never to leave me or forsake me (Psalm 139). He is my support and strength (Psalm 46), and I do not have to feel anxious, lonely or afraid. When you feel anxious, lonely or afraid, know that the Lord, God, is also with you in everything that you do. May God continue to bless you real good.
