I awoke on February 24, 2024, with these words and I felt so comforted knowing that God is with me. As we celebrate Black History month, let us not forget the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. ‘Darkness cannot put out darkness, only light can do that.’
Regardless of what you and I are experiencing in our homes, in our jobs, in our businesses, God is there and near to us, giving us the light of hope, strength, wisdom, and insights on how to navigate through our difficult lives. I do not know from day to day how my life will evolve, but God knows, so I put my trust in Him.
We put our trust in God because He is mighty; he knows all things and will perfect all things according to His plan and purpose for our lives. We need not be troubled when things go wrong or when we experience turbulence in our lives, for God waits to see how we would manage it and brings calm when we pray and depend on him. Apostle Paul’s life is a case in point. In 2 Corinthians 12, Apostle Paul describes a thorn in the flesh, a messenger from Satan, to torment him, but he pleaded with God to take it away and God told him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness (2 Cor.12:9).”
When we look at the world system, the killings by a dictator, our torn political system, the injustices that are happening, we tend to burden ourselves with these problems, but Jesus reminds us in John 14:27, not to be troubled or be afraid, for I leave you with peace, peace that the world cannot give us. He is in control; he who fights our battles, and that of the world.
May God bless and keep you.
