Narrative: Welcome to Insights on Healing Podcast. Our Episode title is, How to Heal from Trauma. You will learn the steps that you would need to take to heal from Trauma once and for all.
I am Joan M. Blake, an author, and I am your host. Insights on Healing Podcast includes the reading of scripture, praying, reading from one of my books, or interviewing individuals who found purpose in their lives through the healing power of God.
The purpose of this podcast is to provide content which brings emotional healing and restoration to mothers who have had trauma and are currently experiencing difficulties. A focal point of this podcast is reflecting on scripture verses and praying for my audience. I pray as you listen to this episode, that God would bless you with inner strength, purpose, and provide you with the hope that you have been longing for.
Today, I will be giving you the steps that you can incorporate into your life to deal with and/or overcome trauma in your life.
Maybe you are not a Christian and you desire to be a Christian, you are a new Christian and your past trauma keeps coming up in your mind making you feel unworthy of God’s love and you do not know how to handle it. Maybe you are married and do not feel loved although your spouse does his/her best to treat you kindly and you do not know what to do in your life. Here are some steps to follow:
If you have never given your life to Jesus, visit or Join a church and begin the process of becoming a Christian when you think you are ready
Saying the sinner’s prayer
Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior
Being Baptized
Bible study
Recognize and Acknowledge the Trauma
Healing starts with acknowledging your pain and bringing it to God.
Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in Spirit.
Spend Time with God Daily
A consistent relationship with God invites His healing into your heart.
Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Renew Your Mind with God’s Truth
Replace negative thoughts with God’s promises.
Romans 12:2: “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Choose Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a powerful step toward healing, freeing you from bitterness.
Ephesians 4:31-32: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Connect with a Supportive Community
Healing often comes through relationships with others who care for you.
Galatians 6:2: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Lean on the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is your helper and guide in the healing process.
John 14:26: “The Holy Spirit will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you.”
Embrace Gratitude and Joy
Gratitude shifts your focus from pain to God’s blessings.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.”
Trust God’s Timing
Healing takes time, but God’s timing is perfect.
Ecclesiastes 3:11: “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
10. Seek Professional Help
God often works through trained counselors and therapists to bring healing.
Proverbs 11:14: “In an abundance of counselors there is safety.”
Declare Victory Through Christ
Speak God’s promises over your life and embrace your identity in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17: “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Reflection:
Healing from trauma is a journey, but as we’ve seen through these scriptures, God is faithful. Whether through prayer, scripture, community, or counseling, He provides what you need to heal. Take the first step today and trust that God is working in your life.
Let’s Pray:
Merciful Father, God of peace and love, the God of second chances, we come to you because you have a plan for each of us and that plan to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. I pray for those who are still dealing with the harsh reality of Trauma in their lives and they are feeling lost and unworthy, I pray father they will believe in the plans you have for them Lord. I pray that they will utilize these steps I have mentioned in this podcast Lord, and free themselves of the bondage they are in. I pray Lord, God, they will be know they are your children and that you love them unconditionally and that your desire is to heal, set free, and deliver them from all of their fears in Jesus, name, Amen.
