Narrative. Welcome to “Insights on Healing Podcast.” In today’s episode, you will learn what it means that God sent his Son Jesus to be with us. You will understand what “God with us” means in your life.
I am Joan M. Blake, an author, and I am your host. Insights on Healing Podcast includes the reading of Scripture, praying for my audience, reading from one of my books or interviewing individuals who found purpose in their lives through the healing power of God.
The purpose of this podcast is to provide content which brings emotional healing and restoration to mothers who have had trauma and are currently experiencing difficulties.
A focal point of this podcast is reflecting on the scripture verses and praying for my audience.
Today I will be reading from the Gospel of Matthew chapter 1, verses 18 to 23 from the king James Virgin and it reads as follows: 18. Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save His people from their sins. 22. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet saying: 23. Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Reflection: We learned two important facts from these verses:
1.Jesus came to save us from our sins.
2. God is with us. Let us reflect on Jesus came to save us from our sins. a. John 3:16-17 says that God so loved the world that he sent his son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his son in the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world may be saved through Him. b. Romans 5:8 But God showed his love for us for while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us c. 1 Timothy 1:15: This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Let us reflect on the statement that God is with us: a. Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and fortress a present help in the time of trouble. This Psalm explains God’s presence with us in good as well as difficult times. b. Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. In your lonely times, where everyone has forgotten you, God is with you. Even in times when you feel like giving up, God is with you. He will give you the strength to make a way out of your situation. c. John 14:16-17: “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth.” Through the Holy Spirit, God remains with us continually. d. Hebrews 13:5: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” This promise tells us that God is with us forever and he promises never to forsake us so we can have hope in difficult times.
Let us pray: Father we come to you during this Christmas season to give you praise, honor, and glory for who you are. We thank you for sending Jesus to save us from our sins. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to confess our sins and accept Jesus as Lord of our lives. Thank you Father that You are with us forever and you promise never to forsake us. I pray for my listeners who are going through a lonely period in their lives, difficult times, emotional difficulties, and illnesses, that they would remember that they can rely on you, for you are with them and they can call you at any time for you know their pain, their situations and those who need you desperately. We ask for healing and deliverance for your people in the name of Jesus, Amen.
