 Welcome to Insights on Healing a weekly podcast. The title of our Episode is: God Still Heals Today. You will learn that God can heal a person who is nearing death.

I am Joan M. Blake, author, and I am your host. The purpose of Insights on Healing podcast is to provide content that brings inner healing and restoration to individuals dealing with trauma and difficult life situations.

Today’s podcast is taken from the book of 2 Kings Chapter20: 1-7   I am reading from the NIV version of the Bible.

God Still Heals Today

2 Kings 20:1-7

 In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, “This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.”

² Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, ³ “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

⁴ Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him: ⁵ “Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord. ⁶ I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.’”

⁷ Then Isaiah said, “Prepare a poultice of figs.” They did so and applied it to the boil, and he recovered.

Reflection:

Friends, there is nothing too hard for God. Even when you are reaching the end of your rope, God can change things in your life when you call on him and when you believe in his mighty power. Hezekiah knew he was going to die. He wept when his son told him of his impending death, but he went to God and reminded God about how faithful he was to God and God heard his cries and added fifteen years to his life. God can do the same for you or your family member if you cry out to Him and believe in his mighty power.

Let us pray: Father, in the name of Jesus,  I pray for every person listening to this broadcast who have been sick and nearing death, that you will have mercy on them and heal them. I pray that they will seek you with their whole heart for any other problem that they have and believe that you will deliver them from their situation. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
