The bible states in the Old and New Testament that God is a healer. I have experienced God’s healing from time to time and I want to list two Scripture verses from the Old Testament that I identify with.
The first is Psalm 103:2-3 which states: “Praise the Lord, my soul and forget not all his benefits-who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.” Note that the above verse states “who forgives all your sins.” I identified with this scripture because God is true to his word. I have gone to God and asked him for forgiveness and healing time after time and God has forgiven me of all of my sins and healed me. When we go to God, we must believe in Him, take Him at his word, and believe that he would grant the benefits that He promised to give us. God keeps his promises, but we must utilize faith by believing his word.
The second is Isaiah 53:4-5 which states that “ “Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” This prophetic passage is often interpreted as referring to the healing work of the Messiah: I identify with this scripture verse because Jesus bore all your sufferings and mine, and by his stripes, we are healed.
The third is Jeremiah 30:17 which states: “But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord.” I identify with this scripture reference and believe with my whole heart that God is restoring us to health even today.
I have witnessed God’s healing and can confirm his healing in my life in the past as well as in the present. One morning I was still in bed and felt that my room was spinning around. My husband called 911 and I went to the emergency room. I felt weak, unable to walk around without feeling dizzy. Even when I was discharged, I continued feeling light headedness. One week later, I checked in the emergency room again determined to understand what was happening to me. I stayed overnight in the hospital while they took tests and ruled out brain damage. One week later I was still showing signs of weakness, so I made an appointment to see a doctor, and later a neurologist. I showed no signs of having a troubling illness. Day by day, as I held the wall to walk, to take my showers, God was with me and healing me. I give him all the glory for the great things he has done, being merciful and gracious to me. God will do the same for you, but you must believe his word and believe in his power and might. He is all that we need.
