Have you been overwhelmed with life? I ask you this question because I have gone through ups and downs. I have not gone to the gym in a few days and have done little writing for the past two weeks. I have not prayed as much as I should and the enemy has gained a footstool into my mind, causing me to feel overwhelmed.
Our minds are the target areas for the enemy. We need to recognize this tactic, get a hold of ourselves, respond with prayer, and believe that God will deliver us from despair. When you feel down or all alone, know that God is with you always (Psalm 139). Sometimes, you and I find ourselves in a dry place, doing, doing, and spinning the wheel but God is directing us to being people after his own heart. That comes about when we spend more time with him in worship, in praise, in reading and in studying God’s word.
When we respond to God in the above ways, we renew our minds. Apostle Paul in Romans 12:2, encourages us not “to be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect” (NASB). Because we have received God’s grace, we need to walk in total freedom practicing new habits and new thinking and giving God that important place in our lives that He deserves.
God is our Father (2 Peter 1:17). He loves and cares for us His children (John 3:16; 1 Peter 5:7). He hears and responds to our prayers according to His will (Psalm 17:6). He is faithful (Deuteronomy 7:9). He is our deliver (Zephaniah 3:17), our healer (Psalm 103:3), our provider (Philippians 4:19), our comforter (2 Corinthians 7:6), our Lord and Master (Malachi 1:6). He is our all in all. What can we say? We can say like Job: “Though he slay me, yet, will I trust in him” (Job 13:15).
I pray, that today, you will draw near to God and say to the enemy: Go away; Jesus is passing by.
