Behold the Lamb of God

Picture your mother and father having to go to another place to be taxed while your mother was pregnant with you.  That was the fate of Mary and Joseph, who left Nazareth to go to Bethlehem while Mary was pregnant with Jesus and about to give birth.  Mary and Joseph must have been anxious and  overwhelmed as they sought a resting place for Mary to give birth. After failing to gain access to an inn,  their last resort was a manger where Jesus was born.

Although Jesus came into this world in a lowly position, He came with a mission to be the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), to be a light for those who live in darkness (John 8:12), to save you and me from our sins (John 3:16), to intercede for us as we go through tough times  Heb.7:25), to give us strength when we are weak (Psalm 46:1), to grant us healing (Psalm 103:3), to provide for us (1 Tim. 6:17), to be with us (Psalm 139), to love us (1 John 4:8) and to give us a second chance. He came to affirm our heritage as children of God and joint heirs with Him (Rom. 8:17). Behold the king of kings and the Lord of Lords, who Isaiah regarded as the Wonderful Counselor, and the Mighty God (Isaiah 9:6). Behold the Lamb of God!

May this Holiday season meet you in a spirit of peace and good health.
