How did you enjoy your Easter day? I am certain that many of you attended church services, had dinners with your families, or spent the day differently. For breakfast, my family and I had Trinidad style coconut bake with fried eggs and fish, and later, had dinner. Our daughter Jo-an and I attended a church service.
Easter Sunday is a reminder of the freedom that we have in Christ who rose from the grave after three days (Romans 14:9). Because of His resurrection we have: hope, a living Savior who sits at the right hand of God (Hebrews 12;2), and the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
Hope allows us to trust in God and not focus on our circumstances. God resurrects us from our past hopelessness, our shattered dreams, and our worthless habits. Every person who repents stands clean before the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings, without condemnation, having received forgiveness, and an opportunity to live a new life (Acts 5:311). Christ is alive and sits at the right hand of the Father and forever intercedes for us (Hebrews 12:2). We can ask anything according to Our Father’s will and we will receive it. The Holy Spirit is always with us; he lives in us. He teaches and guides us as we travel on our life-journey (John 16:13).We should celebrate God’s goodness by thanking Him daily for all that He has done for us.
I thank God daily, in-spite of the sacrifices that my husband Carl and I have made for the past seventeen years dealing with our daughter Jo-an’s challenges. During those difficult years, I felt alone but I continued praying and believing that God would change our daughter’s situation. She is making progress. I have read several psalms to her including Psalm 23, Psalm 91 and Psalm 121 and prayed prayers of deliverance over her in the morning and night. For the past two weeks, Jo- an has accompanied me to church, and has responded favorably to the messages and the worship songs. Because we have hope in Jesus, I am expecting God to do amazing things in her life.
Whatever you are experiencing, God can answer your prayers by resurrecting you from your difficulties every day of your lives. Trust in God and believe that He is faithful to pick you up from the miry clay and put your feet on solid ground (Psalm 40:2). You and I can have new life and joy in Jesus as a result of His resurrection.
